How many away rotations to APPLY to? I know it is recommended to do 2-3 aways. But how many should I apply to per month that I want to do an away? I have heard mixed opinions.Every program requires minimum of 3 letters, as in the fourth is optional but you must upload at least 3. Some programs will explicitly state that they only accept 3 or that they will not accept a fourth letter. For any program that says that, make sure you follow their rules and only assign 3 letters on ERAS.The only data I have to review is step 2 following a strong step 1. 250's should be fine, high enough to avoid getting screened out anywhere. Strong work! The average step 2 score on the updated charting outcomes is a 257 for matched MD applicants. I would think as long as you're around there you should be good.They were all pretty horrible, stressful with everyone trying to figure out something smart to say all the time, speaking over one another. I think most people don't end up getting an interview from them just cause they can take so many people.Choosing to do a research is a very personal decision that no one else can make for you. I doubt you'll get a good answer for #4 since its super variable and will entirely depend on the severity of the call (ex: SJS vs. eczematous reaction have way different urgencies)Unfortunately a high score is basically a pre-requisite for matching derm. Even then, it is still difficult. You will need to get a >240 on Step 2 and as much research as possible to match in anything, at all.
